Choosing to criticize Jack Kennedy not because it is easy, but because it is hard
President Kennedy became a legendary and almost mythological figure after he was assassinated in 1963. To someone like me born in 1964, he was portrayed as a revered figure on par with our great presidents, Lincoln and Washington. In this column written on the 30th anniversary of his death in 1993, I took a look at Kennedy and wondered how he attained such lionization.
